Soil Resources Development Institute (SRDI) is a government organization under the Ministry of Agriculture. The company started its journey in 1961 with the name 'Knowledge Survey Project of Pakistan'. After the emergence of independent Bangladesh in 1972, the organization was known as 'Soil Survey Division' under the Ministry of Agriculture, and later in 1983, the company's activities under the organization of Soil Resource Development Institute (SRDI) were being reconstituted and expanded by 'Soil survey department'. . In 1979, the activities of the Soil Resources Development Institute (SRDI) Pabna District Office started.
